Hello and welcome to my new web site. I'm Barbara and I personally bake all of the Barbara's Brownies people in New England and beyond have come to love.
I have been lovingly baking these wonderful morsels of chocolate heaven for over a decade now and have recently added the most delicious Gluten Free and Vegan Everything Free Brownies to the menu. Now everyone can enjoy my chocolate delights.

The famous and original Barbara Brownie recipe was fully developed in 1995. Back then I was baking a few trays of brownies a week and selling them to local stores and markets in and around Amesbury MA.
In 1998 a new restaurant opened in our town and the manager tried one of my brownies at a local market. He immediately called me wanting to know if I would bake brownies for them. I was very excited and took them on as a new customer. Since then they have expanded across the country and still feature my Barbara's Homemade Brownies.
My recipe is simple. I use the best and freshest ingredients. Mix them together in the perfect proportions. Add a little love. Then bake, cool, cut and wrap them up for you to enjoy.
Gingerbread was created as an added menu feature during the fall season for the first Flatbread restaurant.
Served with pumpkin ice cream and all the fixings, after a couple of seasons gingerbread became so popular it was added to the regular menu.
Made with real ginger, this delicious treat has also been added to the Barbara Brownie menu.
The recipe for my Gluten Free Brownies was in development for over a year. I tasted a lot of so called "Gluten Free" brownies but none of them came up to my standards of taste and texture.
Just because you require gluten free doesn't mean you should give up flavor, taste or enjoyment.
I make these chocolate beauties in muffin tins so they won't be confused with the regular brownies.
Barbara Brownie Vegan or Everything Free Brownies, or my "Free At Last" As I like to call them are nothing short of incredible.
Not only are they gluten free, but are also dairy free. I spent 14 months perfecting this recipe and although it is a closely guarded secret, the chocolate delight is enjoyed by everyone, not just Vegans and/or people with gluten allergies.
Again, made in muffin tins to keep them separate you have to try one to believe it's actually a Vegan Brownie.
